Do you own a property which includes accessory buildings such as shops or extra garages? Are you optimizing and utilizing your space available? Is it possible that one of these buildings would serve a better purpose if it were altered? Swiss Timber Construction had the opportunity to turn a garage into a cabin. This was an extremely fun project. 620 sqft of available space turned into a comfortable, spacious two bedroom cabin. See our gallery for more pics.

Our neighbour, D&M Auto Recycling, in Lumby has invested substantially into upgrading their premises. Chris worked with the owner on coming up with the perfect design to suit the Lumby area and simultaneously portray D&M’s professionalism. Swiss Timber Construction built the new entrance gate and fence at their facility and raised it onsite today. The posts were treated with tar to prevent rotting and wrapped in plastic and then cemented into the ground, thus guaranteeing longevity. I will be adding a new photo as soon as the project has been completed. (Double wood gate to be added).
Are you looking for an entrance gate to your property, ranch or commercial site? We would be happy to submit a quote along with plans for your custom built gate.

We have changed the name of our corporation from Swiss Carpentry to Swiss Timber Construction.
Being in business for almost 8 years now, we have realized that the definition “carpentry” is not what it is in Europe. Here a carpenter is contacted to complete small renovations or install cabinetry.
What Swiss Timber Construction actually does, is European timberframe construction. Nowadays we love to “google” to find contacts quickly. We narrow it down to to two or three words including product definition and maybe location. With the development of this website I have had a chance to study website exposure, social media, networking and how to trigger more hits which ultimately should reflect in sales. As a result of these observations we have come to the conclusion that it makes sense to adapt our name in order to better reflect what we do. So welcome to our new name and new website!

Finally! It took me 6 months to put this new website together! And I could not have done it without the help of my designer, Christine Hwang from Vancouver, my photographer, Don Weixl from Vernon, and my dearest friend Deanna Sherk. Please take your time, browse and enjoy!
It is amazing how picky you get the further the project comes along. You start out with having this “feeling” of what it should be like… and then, yes, try and go ahead and put that feeling into colors, shapes, style, design and on top you need to communicate this to your favorite designer, because you yourself don’t have the tools. It is quite challenging to succeed in communicating clearly and to include the emotions without getting emotional.
Personally, I am proud of the result. What do you think?
Talk to you soon,
Gabriela
